Ferritin is an ELISA test system for the quantitative measurement of ferritin in human serum or plasma. This product is intended for professional in vitro diagnostic use only. The determination of serum ferritin is an important parameter for the diagnosis and therapy control of an irondeficiency. A further use for the determination of ferritin levels is in cases of iron overload. Extremely elevated ferritin levels can also be found in cases of liver disease, neoplasia, infection, inflammation, and malignoma.
